Plein Air

En Plein Air is a French term meaning “out of doors” or “in open air.” Artists paint en plein air to capture accuracy of  light, color, and movement of a scene. 

Plein air painting connects me not only to the subject, but also to my community. As we gain new experiences, we always have something to learn from one another. You can spot me painting en plein air atbcompetitions, or set up along the course at a trail race.
