Plein Air

What is Plein Air Painting?

En Plein Air is a French term meaning “out of doors” or “in open air.” Artists paint en plein air to capture accuracy of  light, color, and movement of a scene.

Plein air painting connects me not only to the subject in a more impactful way, but also to my community. I am always seeking out challenge and I believe we always have something to learn from one another. You can spot me painting at plein air competitions, or set up along the course at a trail race.

The Barkley Fall Classic

Runners from around the world gather to compete at the Barkley Fall Classic. Painting the course during the event was an experience like no other.
