En Plein Air in Downtown Blue Ridge
The focus of this class is to fuel your creativity by getting rid of judgement. The ability to generate ideas and capture a scene quickly is essential to all artists from beginner to experienced. All levels are welcome here! We’ll begin in the classroom with a brief intro and demo before we send everyone en plein air to paint. This class will take place rain or shine. If the sun is out, we’ll paint en plein air capturing early spring in Downtown Blue Ridge. If it’s raining buckets, we’ll paint florals/landscapes indoors. Learn how to capture a scene quickly without the limitation of perfection, and have fun in your creative process!

Finding a Balance: Oil Painting Workshop
We were made for connection. Painting from life and painting from photograph each hold their own value as both approaches connect us to the beauty in our surroundings, in others, and in ourselves. Learn to find a balance between capturing a scene from life, and utilizing tools to record references as we paint florals together. We will paint from life and from photographs to equally represent the benefits and limitations of each. Have the confidence to capture what’s beautiful to you no matter the pace of everyday life.
